IoT Lab (TL) wins at the Student Startup Business Center Competition 2K17

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (IEC), MUISTD launch 1st time in the history of MUET “Student Startup Business Center Competition 2K17”. MUET Student Startup Business Center Competition is to support startup teams in MUET by imparting leadership and entrepreneurial knowledge and skill among the students. Under the said competition 4 projects submitted by the students of Telecommunication Engineering and it is indeed a proud moment for Telecommunication Department that 3 projects out of top 5 were selected for incubation at IEC, MUISTD. It is worth mentioning here that all the selected projects are running under the umbrella of Internet of Things (IoT) lab which is a newly established laboratory (Inaugurated on 24th Feb 2017) at the Department of Telecommunication Engineering. The succeeded projects are as under.

  • The project titled: Maternal Assistant System, led by Engr. Mamta Bachani secured 2nd position and received an amount of 2Lac PKR as seed money and got an incubation space at IEC, MUISTD.
  • The project titled: Pulse Cloud, led by Azlan Shah secured 4th position and received an amount of 2 Lac PKR as seed money and got an incubation space at IEC, MUISTD.
  • The project titled: Internet of Things and Wireless Sensor Networks Based Smart Catastrophe Monitoring System for Factories, led by Engr. Ghulam Fiza secured 5th position and got an incubation space at IEC, MUISTD.

All the selected projects are supervised by Dr. Faisal Karim Shaikh and Engr. Nafeesa Bohra.
